| CVG Preview: Fallout New Vegas June 24, 2010 at 6:32 AM |
| CVG: "Is that a cactus? Like, a real, living cactus? In a Fallout game? That was the first thought racing through our minds as we breathed in a virtual lungful of fresh air in New Vegas. And that sky... there's something odd about it. Oh, yeah: it's brilliant blue, and not murky, East coast grey." | |
| Pocket-Lint: Fable III Preview June 24, 2010 at 6:32 AM |
| Pocket-Lint: With a cast including John Cleese and "director" Peter Molyneux behind the "camera", Fable 3 is looking to be one of the biggest titles of the year repeating the success of the first and second outing. | |
| Joystiq: EA Sports MMA Preview June 24, 2010 at 6:31 AM |
| Joystiq: The first mixed martial arts game, simply Ultimate Fighting Championship, was released way back in 2000, but it took nine years (including a five-year hiatus) for the sport to emerge as a successful video game sub-genre. THQ's UFC Undisputed series has enjoyed two years of positive critical and commercial reception. Now, EA is reaching for its own slice of the pie, introducing its UFC competitor, EA Sports MMA. | |
| Joystiq: Hydrophobia Preview June 24, 2010 at 6:31 AM |
| Ben Gilbert from Joystiq: I played Hydrophobia for the first time this past March at PAX East and, at the time, I was fairly impressed. My feelings on the downloadable title haven't changed dramatically after trying out the game's combat in the E3 2010 build, but I did notice a handful of rough edges this time around. | |
| Joystiq: Brink Preview June 24, 2010 at 6:31 AM |
| Joystiq: In Brink, Splash Damage has created a world of two perpetually warring sides: the Security and the Resistance. Each is fighting for its own slice of a very small pie called the Ark, a floating city that remains the last bit of "land" on a flooded Earth. | |
| Pocket-Lint: Kinect Joy Ride Preview June 24, 2010 at 6:30 AM |

| VG247 Interview Ghost Recon: Future Soldiers Justin Drust June 24, 2010 at 6:30 AM |
| VG247: "We werent sure what to think when Ubisoft announced yet another entry in its Ghost Recon shooter franchise, but after seeing the game in action at E3, we reckon Ghost Recons well worth getting excited about. After all, in what other game can you turn invisible, knife a guard until he can legally be classified as a pin cushion, and then prop his lifeless form up while another guard walks right on by, completely unaware that his buddys nothing but a body?" | |
| VG247 Interview Microsofts Aaron Greenberg June 24, 2010 at 6:29 AM |
| VG247: "Aaron Greenberg is not the man you expect him to be. Once famed for his tirades against 360s competition, Xboxs director of product management is not actually green. He is, in fact, very pleasant. He smiles; he laughs; he exudes a relaxed air you wouldnt have naturally associated with an integral player in Microsofts E3 planning, speaking first thing on a Wednesday morning smack in the middle of the show. He gives great dictaphone. VG247 quizzed the Xbox boss on Kinect, the core, the politics behind securing exclusive reveals for the Microsoft press conference and why hes not convinced the markets right for a 3D push." | |

| Critical Gamer: E3: Ghost Recon Future Soldier Preview June 24, 2010 at 3:58 AM |
| Critical Gamer writes: Future Soldier looks to be another stand-out title in a strong year for Ubisoft. Taking an already established brand and making it something even more special isnt easy, but that is, quite frankly, Ubisofts modus operandi. Ghost Recon has been around for many years now, and has achieved success by taking a popular genre, the third person shooter, making it as realistic as possible, and then continuing to improve the franchise with the subsequent iterations. | |
| Kinect for Xbox 360: Everything you need to know June 24, 2010 at 3:58 AM |

| Quick and Dirty Hands-On at E3: Rock Band 3 (ZTGD) June 24, 2010 at 3:45 AM |
| Cat writes: "Rock Band 2 was a fun game. It found a place in my home for a week or so, and I may have even played all of the songs but that was it for me and the sequel that had little of the magic of the first game. My bandmates and I werent showing up to work on Monday hoarse from singing all weekend, tapping out drum beats on our keyboards, and so it was with that same ambivalence that I went to my Rock Band 3 appointment at E3." | |
| MindJack Hands-on [GamerSyndrome.com] June 24, 2010 at 3:44 AM |

| Gamer.no Preview: Arcania Gothic 4 June 24, 2010 at 3:44 AM |
| GAMER.NO(Norwegian site): Arcania: Gothic 4 seems very much to be on track, but so far there is not much of it as impressive in particular. It's a little difficult to imagine what will distinguish the game from a positive future competitors, but rather it is perhaps not to expect from the relatively umeritterte developers. The visual look promising, but otherwise the presentation has a lot going on. | |
| Bitmob's Top 10 Games of E3 June 24, 2010 at 1:01 AM |
| Bitmob: "The democratic way isn't always the right way. Originally, we wanted to take a staff vote to come up with a definitive Bitmob's Top 10 Games of E3. But since we split up the companies and booths, we all didn't get to see everything, so a collaborative list like that didn't really make much sense. So instead, we'll indulge our own egos by giving you our individual Top 10s (or 5s, for those who didn't feel like they saw 10 great games)." | |
| Rock Band 3 Hands-On Preview BattleStrats June 24, 2010 at 12:46 AM |
| Now, lets discuss the ultimate Rock Band experience further: the Pro option. The drums feature three cymbals, representing the hi-hat, ride, and crash. On regular gameplay mode the cymbals are optional, but on the pro mode the cymbals must be played for maximum benefit and full points. I cant see any reason why the Ion Drum Rocker wont work for the new Pro mode because it has three cymbal ports, but that has yet to be confirmed. Pro-Expert drums are challenging and will no doubt appease the hardcore Rock Band drummer going for the top score. The real show, though, is the Pro-guitar. This thing is | |
| TheBitBag: UFC Undisputed 2010 Review June 24, 2010 at 12:46 AM |
| Hatedgreatness from TheBitBag writes, "A year after the successful release of UFC Undisputed 2009, THQ gives us the much anticipated UFC Undisputed 2010 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles. With last years games garnering a lot of praise while still having many issues to address, developers Yukes had a daunting task on their hands. How could they live up to the expectations of fans from UFC Undisputed 2009 in terms of improvements and additions? While I can confirm that Undisputed 2010 is clearly an improvement to Undisputed 2009, is it enough? Is Undisputed 2010 enough of an improvement over its predecessor to warrant a new game? THQs goal was to better capture the deep strategy and continuous spontaneity that is true MMA fighting. Did they succeed? Read on to find out." | |

| New Madden NFL 11 'Blink' trailer teases First-Person gameplay June 24, 2010 at 12:15 AM |
| Ex: This morning, EA Sports released a trailer entitled 'Blink' which blatantly teases the idea of a First-Person view in Madden NFL 11. On its own the trailer is exceptional, and takes viewers on a fairly intense trip through a quarterback's eyes, ranging from arriving at the stadium to the first snap of the football game. Of course, we can't ignore that camera angle... | |
| Call of Duty: Black Ops Video Interview (GamingBolt) June 24, 2010 at 12:12 AM |
| At E3 2010, Call of Duty: Black Ops was not playable, but I was shown a demo of two separate levels. The first level currently called WMD begins with you in control of an SR-71 Blackbird that as this point is just for reconnaissance, so after you take off, you are really just looking at a radar screen spotting enemies for the team below you. An SR-71 can fly up 80,000 feet above ground, so in 1968 Soviet Union, your Blackbird is definitely out of site as you can see what may be the best approach for the team below to infiltrate the Russian base. | |
| Singuliarity 360 Pre-Order Bonus & First Review- Voodoo Extreme June 24, 2010 at 12:10 AM |
| Due to release on June 29th, Raven's Singularity is available for pre-order on Amazon.com, where they list a bonus for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, but none for PC. I assume there will be something for PC players when D2D, Steam, et al open pre-order for the game. Of course, you know how the old saying goes about ASSuming. | |

| Wall Street Journal: Videogame industry puts upgrades in motion June 23, 2010 at 10:06 PM |
| The Wall Street Journal examines the current state of the videogame industry following E3. Comments: "The three main home consolesNintendo Co.'s Wii, Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3are...now four to five years old, the age when the companies look to recoup their early investments in the game systems by selling lots of games" "It is unclear whether the new games lineup will be enough to revive industry sales. Research firm DFC Intelligence expects U.S. videogame software sales to decline nearly 3% to $10.3 billion in 2010." "Price is another big hurdle for many of the new games. Playing 3-D games on the PS3, for example, can cost $2,000 or more for a 3-D-capable television set and more than $100 for a pair of 3-D glasses." | |

| Pirates Beware: US Government Considering Software Crackdown June 23, 2010 at 9:41 PM |
| Ex: Between 2004 and 2009, video game piracy has cost publishers $41.6 billion. If you think that's a staggering number, it only takes handheld games into consideration. A new bill has been drafted for the Obama administration's consideration which could result in battling the issue of piracy directly, using the FBI. | |
| Examiner - Hands-on with de Blob 2: The Underground June 23, 2010 at 9:33 PM |
| Anthony Friedman from Examiner.com writes, "Amidst the explosion of surprises and reveals at E3 this past week, THQ managed to squeeze in one announcement that is sure to please a number of fans. A sequel to the critically acclaimed de Blob for Wii will be coming in Spring 2011, and we spent some hands-on time with the game. Fans of the series will immediately recognize the name of the best blob to grace Nintendos console, but THQ is set to make sure that many more gamers get the chance to try de Blob 2: The Underground next year. The title is not only coming to Wii and Nintendo DS; its coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 as well (and even in 3D)." | |
| The Flawed Ballad of John Marston June 23, 2010 at 9:30 PM |
| Kirk Hamilton: "Despite the emergent possibilities of its open world and the rowdy fun of its multiplayer, Red Dead Redemption is a game with a very specific tale to tell, and so it must be judged accordingly. So it's too bad that despite doing a good number of things right in its opening and closing chapters, the narrative of Red Dead Redemption is ripped down the middle by a dissonance that is all but impossible to ignore." (Story spoilers abound in both the post and the comments, so proceed with appropriate caution.) | |

| Microsoft announced a new, slimmer Xbox 360 at the end of their E3 keynote, and that means that its bulkier units who still display the red ring of death when they die are selling for significantly less. Arcade bundles have vacated the $199 mark to make way for their small, black successor and now retail for $149.99, as you can see on Amazon.com and at Best Buy. Elites, meanwhile, have taken a step down to $249.99. | |
| FF versus 13 Going Multi-format? Does Game Informer Know Something? June 23, 2010 at 4:36 PM |
| In the most recent edition of Game Informer Australia, the monthly segment entitled 'Bite Size', has small pieces of news placed around the border. Seen below is a page from the magazine with some interesting pieces of information about a certain anticipated title. Update: A more in depth description of the Bite Size section. It is all about news that is filling in the gap between the 2 issues. As it is issue #7, the bite size section is and I quote from the Game Informer magazine A Quick Look At The Month In The News. | TheBitBag: Split Second Review June 23, 2010 at 4:26 PM |
| Zack Warren of TheBitBag writes, "Split Second is a revolutionary racing game that has put a very different spin on the racing game genre. It has put more of an attack oriented racing style then the pure skill racing spirit most racing games have. Now that being said this is no kart racer, Split Second is a racing game that has you drift, draft and jump your way to filling your power play meter. And with the power play meter you can use the environment and the track you are driving on to take your opponents out of the race until they respawn. Be it a helicopter that drops explosives or even a giant building crashing down into the track not only crushing other cars but also changing the track for the rest of the race." | |
| TheBitBag: Alan Wake Review June 23, 2010 at 4:26 PM |
| Drakol from TheBitBag writes, "When I first popped in Alan Wake, I was greeted with what Stephen King would do for the intros to his movies, which is to have a calm setting but with a dark undertone to the theme. With an eerie feeling already in place, the music had me reeled into Alan Wakes world sooner than most other games have done. Seriously, the developers did a terrific job on setting up this world and the characters with it. The way the fog moves across the dirt and between trees, and even the trees often give way to the wind and the bushes too, in Bright Falls is fantastic and helps set that dark tone that the game is based on. The environment is top notch for this type of game and nothing to improve upon, and a big appluase to Remedy for doing such a great job!" | |
| Dead Space 2 Preview - AusGamers June 23, 2010 at 4:26 PM |
| AusGamers has a detailed preview of Dead Space 2 up and writes: "All of this was claustrophobic, and confined to narrow corridors. The lighting was fantastic, while the containment chambers spewed atmospheric cold into sterile white illumination. It's obviously hard to stand back and admire the attention to detail when deformed space creatures are trying to pierce your skull, but the entire environmental element of the game has been revamped and re-detailed this time around, and it really stands out..." | |
| Crysis 2: The Most Badass FPS Ever Seen, Until Bulletstorm June 23, 2010 at 4:25 PM |
| Ripten: "Up until I actually made it to E3 2010, I was pretty ambivalent about Bulletstorm. Sure it looked pretty badass from afar, but as a PC gamer and an avid Crytek fan, I was still way more psyched about Crysis 2. That was until I actually got my hands on Bulletstorm." | |
| XXLGaming | Pure Futbol Review June 23, 2010 at 4:16 PM |
| XXLGaming writes, "OK,,.let me give credit where credit is due,.,,Ubisoft makes some great games...even legendary to be exact...regretfully, I have to say Pure Futbol is not one of those titles. Did I have high expectations when I saw this was announced? Did I think Ubisoft was going to steal some of the well earned market share from the heavy hitters in this space like EA and Konami (despite their claims to aim to do so)? Heck, did I even think there room for another authentic title? I will be honest - no." | |
| Ripten Dead Space 2 Preview June 23, 2010 at 2:03 PM |
| Ripten: "EA showed a live demo of Dead Space 2 behind close doors at its E3 2010 booth. The demo showed several minutes of thrilling gameplay, including a lot of the games new features. While the surivial-horror gameplay that made the original a hit is most definitely back, the sequel adds new effects, even more unique environments, creative puzzle solving, and voice acting for Isaac Clarke, the protagonist of the game once again. The demo shown was awesome and was a great first impression on what to expect from Dead Space 2." | |

| Crysis 2 Preview - NGN June 23, 2010 at 11:41 AM |
| New Game Network @ E3 2010 writes: "When it was first announced that Crysis 2 was going multiplatform, the feelings of the audiences around the world were mixed. On one hand, the console players will finally be able to check out the great gameplay and visuals that made the original title a classic on PC. On the other hand, both PC and console players knew that the technology would have to adapt to the limitations of the consoles, and both sides were worried that the quality of the product will suffer as a result." | |

| DarkStar One: Broken Alliance (Xbox 360 Review): E-Lite [Dealspwn Review] June 23, 2010 at 10:54 AM |
| Dealspwn's Jonathan Lester writes: "Once upon a time, there was a little genre called Space Simulations. Games like Elite, Freelancer, X and I-War crowded store shelves and allowed us to explore masterfully-crafted universes at our own pace; trading and battling our way to bigger ships and a brighter tomorrow. These days, however, the once-great genre has all but disappeared; forcing its dwindling fanbase to replay past glories or invest in the outrageously complex EVE Online. Console owners have had the rawest deal, with publishers simply unwilling to take the risk on a dying genre. But finally, we can return to the wild black yonder courtesy of Kalypsos remastered Xbox 360 port of DarkStar One. Stepping into the airtight boots of Kayron Jarvis, youll take ownership of the titular DarkStar One Fighter and embark on an epic journey of revenge, betrayal and exploration." | |

| E3 2010 Recap June 23, 2010 at 10:52 AM |
| Don from GamesOnSmash.com writes "For me E3 was a bit of a let down and knowing that motion control was going to be the focus, I cant see how hardcore gamers were very enthused by what was shown at the conferences. The spotlight on Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony debut more games I was interested in seeing, than the conferences themselves. A lot of information was left out or tiptoed around by both Microsoft and Sony and so much was left un-shown. Where were the games?" | |
| Toy Story 3 The Videogame : PlayStation Unlimited Review June 23, 2010 at 10:52 AM |
| Joe Tkacz Writes: In a world full of tacky movie based games developed with the soul purpose of cashing in on a summer blockbuster, Toy Story 3 is one toy that deserves your attention. Avalanche Software has managed to capture the true spirit of the Toy Story franchise, while also proving that they can create a rather ambitious game. The best part about Toy Story 3 is that the game does a fantastic job of blending genres to fit an audience of all ages. So just as those both young and old can enjoy the fantastic films, so too can the game be enjoyed by gamers of all ages. | |
| GamePro: Transformers: War for Cybertron Review June 23, 2010 at 10:49 AM |

| Gamer Limit Review: Green Day Rock Band June 23, 2010 at 8:13 AM |
| The most influential band in the history of popular music was always going to be a tough act to follow. Conceived as a carefully crafted tribute to the band, The Beatles: Rock Band was crowned as one of the most refreshingly diligent music games to date, but despite it being universally praised, it was not as commercially successful as the developers had hoped. So who would you presume was going to be the next iconic group to be given the coveted band game treatment? The Rolling Stones? Queen? Iron Maiden? Nope youre wrong, because it is in fact a band who named their most successful album after a juvenile term for fecal matter. | |
| Final Fantasy XIII On Xbox 360 Being Phased Out By UK Retailers June 23, 2010 at 8:10 AM |
| Final Fantasy Union: "When Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIII would be coming out on the Xbox 360, people instantly thought about how this would affect sales. Multiplatform titles on Xbox 360 pretty much always outsold their PS3 counterpart, but Final Fantasy had a very strong Sony following. It turns out that the PS3 version convincingly outsold the Xbox 360 version, and this is now being strongly reflected by how retailers are approaching both versions of the title." | |

| Golf Games Might Not Work On Kinect June 23, 2010 at 7:56 AM |
| GameXplain Writes: "While scouring the show floor at E3 2010 for every little bit of gaming goodness that we could, we bumped into some old friends who pointed out a glaring omission from this year's show: Tiger Woods 2011 running on Kinect was noticeably absent. Apparently, EA couldn't get the game running well on Microsoft's motion-sensing device and opted to leave it out of the show completely rather than display something that didn't work." | |
| Kinectimals Sell Big Proving It Won't Matter What We Think June 23, 2010 at 7:56 AM |
| DualShockers writes, "Like them, hate them, or love them, Kinectimals are probably here to stay. If the Ebay sales of Kinectimals given to attendees of Microsofts Project Natal Experience event are any indicator of their reception to the mass market, then get used to them because the mass appeal of Natal is taking off before Kinect even releases. Something like a beanie baby collectible in the hearts of collectors, many attendees would probably never dream of selling these and consider them invaluable. But we all know that guy who just stocks up on something in order to pull a quick smash-n-grab in resale value later. Meet that guy..." | |

| GameXplain: Deus Ex: Human Revolution Preview June 23, 2010 at 5:28 AM |
| GameXplain Writes: "While theres a huge mass of FPS games coming out, its looking like Eidos is on the right track to making something that stands out. What Ive seen from the game looks slick, and considering that its still a good distance from its launch date, its only going to get better. As Ive said before, Ive yet to try out a Deus Ex game, but this one is definitely on my to-do list. Will I let my chance to get into the world of Deus Ex slide by when Human Revolution is released? No way it's one of the best games of E3 and I can't wait to take it for a spin when it's released next year. | |
| SquareGo: Crackdown 2 Hands On Preview June 23, 2010 at 5:25 AM |
| SquareGo writes: "It's been a while since SquareGo was invited to Ruffian Games to look at the work they were doing on Crackdown 2. At that time the game already handled well and looked good but those Ruffian people have been working hard and now it looks stunning with cell shaded environments spreading out into the distance." | |

With Rock Band and Guitar Heros previous titles and themed releases such as Metallica, Aerosmith and Green Day focusing very much on the rock side of things, the keyboard may see some more family-friendly tunes and acts begin to appear. | |
| Xboxic Review: Space Ark June 23, 2010 at 5:06 AM |
| Xboxic Writes: "If theres one way to describe the visuals in Spark Ark, its that theyre sickeningly sweet. Tooth-rottingly so. The worlds, characters and cut-scenes are all bright and colourful and obviously designed with the younger demographic in mind. Adults can also enjoy the setting if they so wish, it just depends on how much cutesy art style a grown man can take." | |
| Work On The Grinder Wii Slowed; E3 Build Same As Last Year's June 23, 2010 at 5:05 AM |
| GameXplain Writes: "During E3 2010 last week, we snuck our way behind-the-scenes and jumped at the chance to play through a demo of High Voltage Software's latest B-movie horror-fest, The Grinder. After spending quite a long time slogging through the monster-laden mines of the game's demo with other esteemed members of the press, we walked away fairly impressed with the title, although there was one nagging issue that we couldn't shake." | |

| NCAA Football 11 Rankings: For Better or Worse June 23, 2010 at 5:04 AM |
| "The new rankings have been released for the 2011 and here they are for better or worse. It is hard to judge the rating because they are simple grade ratings and not numeric, but based on these ratings my biggest beef would be with the A- rating of Wisconsin, they are a top 5 team at worst with all the talent they return arguably a top 3 team. I do love how they showed some love to the non-bcs schools though with their ratings, so overall I think they are pretty good, and am looking forward to playing the full version in the near future."
